When Armenian Butterflies Dream
for soloist and painting
When Armenian Butterflies Dream is inspired by the musical elements and colors of Armenian sacred chant. It also combines the spiritual symbolism of the butterfly, and its transformation and emergence as a full adult. A digital painting When Armenian Butterflies Dream, by the composer, also exists.

September has always been a month of change and transition – a time when nature embraces both summer and fall, and life unfolds in new ways for individuals and society. The music of September, by Jeffrey Hoover, is set in two related and contrasting sections: music of thoughtful reflection and music of engaging the present. The sound and music of September posses an autumnal quality spanning the psychological and emotional gap between the sound of memories and the music of now. The painting which represents this music may be read from left to right.
